Welcome to the official web page for the Global Gathering of Goninans to be held in Madison, Wisconsin on June 26 to June 28 (Fri to Sun) 2009. This will be the third Global Family Gathering. The first was in June 2002 in Cornwall (the family’s ancestral home) and the second was held in Tasmania in October 2005. Details of the arrangements and program for the Wisconsin Gathering can be found in the Newsletters (please use the link above) or for further information you can contact the organizers via goninangathering@aol.com

The name Goninan can be spelled in a number of ways (e.g. Goninon in Tasmania and Goninen in Wisconsin) but for convenience the UK spelling of Goninan is used here. We are hoping that the web site will be found by many family members that have not been in contact before, particularly those in the United States where we suspect as yet only the tip of the iceberg has been identified. Even if you have no plans to attend the Gathering we would still like to hear from you and please remember that those descended from a Goninan via a female line and thus with a different surname are just as much a part of the global family as those that still have the Goninan name.

Family members are invited to upload items to both the Family History and Photo sections of this web site. Full instructions on how to do this can be found in Newsletter #6. Items for the Family History section could take the form of details of your family tree or family anecdotes, etc.
